Camp Pieri, Wiesbaden, Germany

My name is Jesse Morris, and I created this blog to find old Army buddies from Camp Pieri, in Wiesbaden, Germany. I was stationed at Camp Pieri in 1991 and 1992, with the 563rd Ordnance Company.

If you were at Camp Pieri at any time, please feel free to submit a comment. The same goes for anyone who was connected with Camp Pieri in any way.

I’m Brad Cunningham and I was at Camp Pieri from 1979 to 1981 Loved the place had a Great Time with the folks that we shipped over with from Ft. Hood Texas. We were in the 124th Maintenance battalion at Ft. Hood when we got to Camp Pieri we were 563rd Ord. All the places everyone talked about brings back Great Memories wouldn’t trade them for any price. We went all over Germany drinking Beer and Wine. Went to Berlin when it was still in East Germany man what a time, I was at the AF Base Hospital at the Dentist when the American hostages were released from Iran. Opened the elevator door and there were MP’s all over the place a bus pulled up and they all got off with hugs and kisses for all. What a Great Day I’ll never forget. I had a Beautiful Wife at the time we traveled to Holland, France, England and of course The lovely island of Crete, Damn Loved that Ouzo. Top always checked my bags to make sure I didn’t bring any back but we always got the 5 liter bottle back and I can still taste it today…made some great friends in Germany used to sell our cigarettes and whiskey to Joe who had the Gasthaus under our apartment off of Blaue StraSe in downtown Wiesbaden. I ETS before my wife about 6 months and had fun waiting for her to ETS before we moved back to Texas. I keep in touch with them for years but as time goes by so do some off our Best Friends. Hell I could write a book on it as I’m sure everyone could.

Dr. Kincaid, in all honesty your name definitely rings a bell in my registry. I was one of the medical personnel working under SSgt Rampley and Sgt. Green at the battalion 1st aid station in basement area where the Infamous HillTop was located on the Upper level and PX was in between. 527th MP was behind our building along with messhall HHQ was in front when coming on to post facing left and 563rd to the right. Have great memories of Camp Pieri. If I remember correctly you worked at Battalion and did a lot driving base Commander and shuttle service as well as everybody. Name Spc Douglas.

Hello,
I live in Wiesbaden and do a radio show. A radio program is about the history of Freudenberg Castle. I will also be covering the Rod and Gun Club's time at the castle and I am looking for further information. What was it like there, who could get in there, what was the furnishings and atmosphere like. Maybe someone can tell or write about it.An online meeting would also be possible
Best regards
Jörg

I was in Svc Battery from 84 - 86. I often think of those days at Camp Pieri. I have looked the camp up numerous times and it appears to be torn down and apts. built in its place. When I first arrived I was placed with soon to ETS Spec. 4 Danny Hughley. Can't imagine what I would have done without him. He took a backwards Ga boy under his wing and took care of me as well as any family ever could have. Once he left I befriended James "Junebug" Sampson from W. Va. and Jeff Thomas from Kansas. To this day I would do anything for those guys. Unbelievably I was later reassigned to Ft. Lewis Washington and one day outside who did I come across but "Junebug". We talked a bit but being from different units fell back out of touch. I will always remember those guys. Wish I knew what they were doing now. So much more that happened but no way to cover it all. Hope they see this and post something after all these years.
